John Nekus built Monroe Street Group to close the gap between the potential of AI and the reality of what most businesses actually get from it. His career spans 20+ years leading enterprise technology transformation at global scale, 13 years as a commercial real estate founder and operator, and a track record of deploying working systems that produce measurable outcomes across fintech, telecom, medical and dentistry, government, and professional services.
Before founding MSG, John served as Chief Information Officer for TransUnion International, where he led IT operations across 11 countries and launched the company’s India offshore development center, reducing project costs and timelines by 50%. He orchestrated U.S. market entry for European IT firm CRIF through five strategic acquisitions, led the digital modernization of Ethiopia’s national credit reporting infrastructure under an IFC World Bank Group engagement, and directed the construction and operational launch of the Town of Chesterton’s municipal fiber optic broadband network.
John is also the founding partner of Ascend Real Estate Advisors, a 13-year commercial real estate brokerage active in northwest Indiana and Chicago Metro, and host of The AREA Leaders Podcast, a short-format interview series with founders, operators, and CEOs about how they actually run their businesses.
He is the author of Artificial Intelligence Made Easy published July 2024 under pen name N. Jonas Adam.
